KRIMEWATCH - S/T 7" out now!

Well summer's here and the heat wave is punishing. Just got back from Copenhagen where I saw Lebenden Toten play one of the best shows I've ever seen and also got badly sun burnt like a proper tourist. Best of both worlds? Either way, I hope you're all having a good time!

Here's a new record available now!

New York City's KRIMEWATCH are one of the most exciting bands to emerge from hardcore in the last year. The five tracks on this EP are a combination of Japanese punk and early NYHC; keeping it simple with shouted vocals (in both Japanese and English) and driving beats. This 7" is the bands first recordings, now remastered and pressed on vinyl to coincide with their just completed UK / Euro tour.

Blue vinyl available for mailorder only.

We also have a few new distro bits including pretty much all of the recent Iron Lung Records releases among others. Check it out!

Two new records are available now! Without further ado:

SSR051: SIEVEHEAD - Worthless Soul LP

Some bands start off important, others work it at and become important. Sievehead are one of those bands and they represent all that is good with DIY Punk in the UK in 2017. Born, raised and blossomed in the Lughole, in Sheffield, Sievehead have become a band of greatness. Second album Worthless Soul is an album full of shimmering guitars, the bleakness of 80’s Sheffield and passionate vocals that ooze defiance. It has energy, heart and that special something you can’t put your finger on. It sits next to the classic early 80’s era Gun Club, Arch Criminals (a lost Post punk band that had a 12” on Conflict’s Fight Back label) and Husker Du. But still it has DIY Punk running through every vein. Worthless Soul is ready to destroy and conquer everything and everyone in it’s path. The LP comes with a heavyweight reverse board sleeve with a printed innersleeve with artwork and photography from bassist Joe Singleton. A download code is included.

SSR047: SARCASM - Malarial Bog EP

"Sarcasm from London release their debut EP on Static Shock after a great 5 Track demo ('Total Institution' on Far so Far) in 2016. Sarcasm deal in angular post punk led by skeletal guitars and a locked in rhythm section. The vocals are nonchalant and sound like someone totally bored of life and everything that surrounds it. It just adds to the bleak and broody vibes that are sprinkled on each of the four tracks. The sound sits somewhere between a more sparse Crisis, The Fall - in the glory years on Step Forward Records and Hygiene. This is the sound of the past, the sound of now and the sound of dissatisfaction." - Sean Forbes

SIEVEHEAD's European tour also starts tomorrow! Dates can be found a couple of posts below.

SHEER MAG - Compilation LP (finally) out now!

After a pretty long wait (in fact, maybe the longest amount of time we've had a record in production for), I'm happy to let you know that the SHEER MAG 7"EP compilation is finally out!

SSR049: SHEER MAG - Compilation LP

"Sheer Mag’s Compilation LP features the Philadelphia rock band’s three seven-inches, released between 2014 and 2016. All twelve songs were recorded onto the same vintage 8-track tape machine, carted to various locations around Philadelphia. The first two were produced in a makeshift studio wedged between two bedrooms in the band’s former South Philly house, while the third came out of a practice space in the Port Richmond neighbourhood. Sequenced chronologically, the newly remastered songs reveal a young DIY band finding its sound."
The LP is packaged inside an embossed gatefold sleeve with a heavyweight innersleeve.

Please note if you're in the USA you can order this directly from Wilsuns RC.

Sheer Mag will be touring UK and Europe this summer, dates to follow soon!

Other News:
SARCASM's debut 7" is just around the corner. Sleeves are in, and the records are due back from the plant in a couple of weeks. You can stream a song of it on the label Bandcamp page now. 'Worthless Soul' is coming out next month, and they are going on a European tour to co-incide with it, alongside a weekend trip to Scandinavia and also Berlin's Nothing Nice To Say festival.
