IDIOTA CIVILIZZATO - 'La Vita Silenziosa' 7" out today

Our first release of 2016 is now available!

SSR044: IDIOTA CIVILIZZATO - ' La Vita Silenziosa' 7"

Debut 7" EP from this new hardcore band based in Berlin, but with members from Italy, Mallorca and Australia (including people from DIAT and ORDEN MUNDIAL). IDIOTA CIVILIZZATO are here with the answer to the little asked question "What would Cheetah Chrome Motherfuckers be like if they grew up in the American midwest?". Hardcore punk being played because it's all that they know how to do and sounding like their lives depend on it.

"Who put these 4 people in a room together?! What is the Italian version of Midwest USA? And how did it show up in Berlin? These weirdos look like they met at a bus station and together make up the ripping hardcore version of a house of cards that feels like it could fall apart at any moment, then it does but that’s actually how the song goes so uno, due, tre, quattro and on with the next one, kapisce paisan? Idiota is gonna teach you a little bit of Italian with some catchy romance language grunts and groans, the meanderings of a blue collar immigrant stuck in a kitchen behind a door, away from the public, away from people. This is the sound of pent up frustration and the things you do to keep your head above water in a world that doesn’t understand you and doesn’t want to try." - Onton

The record comes in a reverse board pocket sleeve with an insert and download code.

SHEER MAG - Compilation LP and CAREER SUICIDE - Machine Response LP up for Pre-Order now

We have two new records coming out in February that are now up for pre-order. Details are below!

SSR049:  SHEER MAG - Compilation LP

Sheer Mag’s Compilation LP features the Philadelphia rock band’s three seven-inches, released between 2014 and 2016. All twelve songs were recorded onto the same vintage 8-track tape machine, carted to various locations around Philadelphia. The first two were produced in a makeshift studio wedged between two bedrooms in the band’s former South Philly house, while the third came out of a practice space in the Port Richmond neighbourhood. Sequenced chronologically, the newly remastered songs reveal a young DIY band finding it's sound.

The LP is packaged inside an embossed gatefold sleeve with a heavyweight printed innersleeve.

SSR050: CAREER SUICIDE - Machine Response LP

Writhing, sneering, tight cornered, "Machine Response" the only acceptable follow up to the blistering and landmark "Attempted Suicide." Nearly ten years of beating around the bush, casually playing around the world and drip releasing music along the way, Career Suicide is backed by their best lineup ever, ready to break back through themselves with this new full length. Machine Response veers in and out of pure speed, bursts of melody, and chunky tempo shifts, indenting the long standing influence of early 80s USHC, late 70s punk, and a peppering of 60s swagger, with their own clearly developed style. Dallas Good (Sadies, Andre Williams, John Doe, Half Japanese, Elevator and a million more) presents a magnificently essential 2nd guitar and lead presence; a screaming contribution by great friend and long time supporter of the band, Souichi Hisatake, (Forward, GISM, Insane Youth, Gudon etc) to crack your brain up; artwork in collaboration with Ryan Tong of S.H.I.T. and Toronto's life-giving Faith/Void; and a thundering recording, once again helmed by the decorated and limitless in his pursuit of smooth hearing loss, Jon Drew, provide the most damaging clarity Career Suicide have been able to capture to date.

The LP comes with alternative artwork to the Deranged Records pressing as well as a fully printed innersleeve and download code.

URANIUM CLUB - 'All Of Them Naturals' LP out today!

One final release to close out 2016. The second LP from The Minneapolis Uranium Club is now available!

SSR048: URANIUM CLUB - 'All Of Them Naturals' LP

Sharpen your pencils, pseudo intellectuals, the Minneapolis Uranium Club Band have returned with a new LP! All Of Them Naturals brings you a collection of new songs that sound exactly like Wire and exactly like Devo and exactly like the Randoms and exactly like Total Control and exactly like the Shitty Limits and exactly like Eddy Current and exactly like The Fall without Mark E. Smith's languidness. It's like the Sex Pistols misfiring. All eight tracks come fully approved by The Sunbelt Chemical Corporation.

Jensen Ward of Iron Lung Recordings had the following to say about this opus:
“All Of Them Naturals” is a fully realized, inclusive world of faux-corporation sponsored surrealist new wave punk music rife with satire and discordance. Robotically tight. Delightfully warped. Ideas as vast as Nebraska’s GMO cornfields and as lethal as the pesticides they spray on them. Did the Sunbelt Chemicals Corporation invent DDT? Maybe. Did they invent man? They think so. Did they invent the wheel? No, that was URANIUM CLUB. Truly, our generation’s DEVO. An important group."

The record is now available to order either on limited green, or unlimited black vinyl.
Americans, please note that this record will be available any day now from Fashionable Idiots Records, and I urge you to order directly from them.

Finally, thank you for anyone who has supported anything that we have been involved with in 2016. It's truly appreciated. Cheers!

This has been in the works for a while (well a few years now), but I guess we can now officially announce that the new CAREER SUICIDE LP is coming out in February!

Over to the band themselves:
"After an excruciating wait, the new Career Suicide LP will officially be out in February. The LP is titled Machine Response and will be released on Deranged Records, with a UK / European version out on Static Shock Records.

This might just jinx it, but we expect to have a limited run of 200 copies for our upcoming UK/Europe tour in December ( and pre-orders should be available soon too.

We'll be posting some tracks in the coming week, along with the Machine Response 7" that we're putting out ourselves for this tour as well. Career Suicide Records #1!

After what has seemed like an eternity of delays, we have two new records out today and ready to order:

SSR043: URANIUM CLUB - Who Made The Man? 7"

Uranium Club return with a brand new single on and a taster for their second album. "Who Made the Man? is like a gang of aliens landing on planet earth, finding an extensive back catalogue of Wire and Devo and deciding they want to form a band. The track builds and builds with peaks, odd noises, different parts that come out of nowhere and an instant vocal. It's a banger. This 7" features an alternate take of Who Made the Man? and an exclusive b side Small Fry"

The 7" comes in a hand-stamped sleeve with an embossed innersleeve.
If you are in the USA, please order from Lumpy Records.

"After five years of playing gigs Melbourne's Tyrannamen (who also feature members of Twerps and Whipper in their ranks) finally released their debut album on Cool Death Records but that pressing sold out instantly so Static Shock decided to do the honourable thing and keep this instant classic in print. The album is just 23 minutes long but every minute is worth the admission price alone. The album starts with calling card 'I Can't Read Your Mind' which is full of ramshackle yet instantly catchy punk rock but with a soulful and rock 'n' roll underbelly. It sits somewhere between Alex Chilton, Royal Headache and Irish power pop kings The Moondogs. Your jaw will drop and your feet start moving. Other highlights include the anthemic 'You Should Leave Him' which starts like The Undertones 'Get Over You' before heading into a straight up pounder with Nic Imfeld's raw but tuneful voice taking the song to pop heaven. This album tugs at your heart, twists at every turn and deserves to be loved for years and years to come."

Blue vinyl (limited to 88 copies) available only through mailorder.
